Terms of service
Effective October 18, 2026
1. The service
CrunchMD turns study material you provide into practice questions, flashcards, timed exams and text-message reviews. CrunchMD is operated by CrunchMD. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Contact us at privacy@crunchmd.com.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information, and use one account per person.
3. Your uploaded material
- You keep ownership. Slides, PDFs, notes, images and anything else you upload or connect from Google Drive or Dropbox stay yours. We claim no ownership of them.
- What you let us do. You give CrunchMD a limited licence to store, process and display your material, and to send it to our AI provider, solely to run the service for you: reading the file, writing questions, grading answers and explaining mistakes. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train our own models. Our privacy policy describes the providers involved.
- You must have the right to upload it. Upload only material you wrote, that you are licensed to use, or that your school allows you to study from. Lecture slides are often your instructor's or institution's copyright. You are responsible for making sure your use is permitted. Questions generated from your material are for your own study; do not publish, resell or redistribute them or the material.
- No patient information. Do not upload anything that identifies a real patient.
- Deleting. You can delete a lecture, or your whole account and everything in it, from your settings. See the privacy policy for how long copies remain.
4. What you may not upload or do
- Material you have no right to use, or that infringes someone's rights.
- Unlawful, harassing or malicious content, or malware.
- Exam content obtained in breach of an exam body's or school's rules, or leaked or stolen test items.
- Attempts to break, probe or overload the service, to bypass its limits, or to resell access to it.
- Automated access other than through the product as provided.
Send copyright complaints to privacy@crunchmd.com with: the work, the material on CrunchMD and where it is, your contact details, a good-faith statement, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you're authorized, and your signature. We remove infringing material and may close repeat infringers' accounts. Users can send a counter-notice to the same address.
We may also remove material or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
5. AI-generated content
Questions, answers, explanations and grading are written by an AI model and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Each question cites the part of your material it came from so you can check it. Treat your own course material and your instructors as the authority, and flag questions that look wrong.
6. Not medical advice
CrunchMD is a study tool. Nothing in it is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation, and it must not be used to care for patients. We do not guarantee any exam result.
7. Plans, credits and refunds
Paid plans and credit packs are not on sale yet.
- Free: 3 lectures in total, once you verify with an academic (.edu or similar) email or add a card.
- Pro: $19 per month or $149 per year, with about 40+ lectures a month, more with credits. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime in Settings, and you keep access until the end of the paid period. We don't give partial refunds for unused time.
- Credits: optional one-time packs of $5 or $10. Unused credit packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase by emailing privacy@crunchmd.com. Used credits are non-refundable. Credits don't expire and have no cash value.
- Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number. Prices are in US dollars and may change for future charges, with notice.
- If you're in the EU, UK or another place that gives you a legal right to withdraw, that right still applies.
- Usage limits and monthly AI allowances apply to each plan, as shown in the app. We may suspend accounts that abuse them.
8. Ending your account
You can stop using CrunchMD and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or abuses the service, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.
9. Warranty and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in the EU, UK or another place whose consumer laws give you rights that can't be waived, those rights still apply, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
10. Changes to these terms
We will post changes here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will tell signed-in users by email or in the app. Continuing to use CrunchMD after a change means you accept it.
